In March I could not log into a hotmail account without a code so they sent one and locked my account for weeks, until 7th April. Things have been fine since then.
Today I tried to get into my hotmail account and it asked for the code so I typed in the four digit one they sent. I then got a message saying it was a 16 digit code which I have never had. This morning I have requested a new code SIX times and they keep sending 4 digit ones.
I have tried to get into Microsoft Chat Help - it said the waiting time for an advisor was 1 minute. Two hours 17 minutes later I am still waiting. I can't email them for email advice because I need to send the email from my hotmail account.....which I can't get into.
I urgently need to access a legal document attached to an old email.
I am at the point of throwing the laptop out of the window. Any suggestions?

probably no good if its very old but can you get it resent to a new address?

open an account with gmail or something & email hotmail from that whilst your at it
