I have got AVG for a month trial, which is shortly to end. They keep asking if I wish to buy. I thought it was going to be free for longer. What do I do?

Download the free, not trial, version.

If you want to keep it uninstall the trial version you've installed and download the free version instead....

Though personally I'd not bother with AVG and go for Microsoft security essentials.

Thanks Chuck and Alf too. I'll be more careful!
Use Microsoft Security Essentials. CF and I always recommend it for free AV!
None of those AVG problems and updating taking ages .. etc

Thanks Al and Chuck.I have had a look and it says:
Click the Start button , right-click Computer, and then click Properties.

If Service Pack 1 is listed under Windows edition, SP1 is already installed on your computer.
It is installed, but do I need to do anything else? Can I delete the AVG thing now?

Close that .. that's system info ..
(though you 'should' be on SP2 or SP3 if you are using XP)

Control Panel/Add Remove Programs .. remove .. AVG then reboot
Install from here if is what you require ...
