Help needed.......File conversion..........

I have been reading a book into my computer using 'Wave-pad sound editor'.....everything was proceeding well.........except (you knew that was coming, didn't you?) that it was a 'time-limited' trial period, of which I was unaware.

I received notification that the trial period was about to end and that certain functions, etc. would no longer be available but played about with it and whatever was changing didn't seem to apply to the very basic way in which I was using it.

Until now..........:o(

I have attempted to burn a disc and have now discovered that the files (chapters I read) during the trial have been saved as .wma files at about 11 to 15 MB.........but the ones I have created since it expired are created as .wav files and are varying between 158 and 451 MB!!!

I can, naturally, purchase the requisite software to convert the files but the cost is far beyond anything I want to pay........

Do any of you techy-type people have a quick, simple (it needs to be very simple.....just like me) fix to this problem?

Many thanks.

Trim, wouldnt Nero convert them to mp3 if required before burning?

No, Nero will convert from MP3 to CDA (CD audio)

You could burn the wav files to CD so they are proper audio CD that would play in any CD player (media player, nero and several other things will do this.... benefit is you'd have them archived on CD) and then use media player to rip the CD's as WMA files.
Nero is great!! but no good here it seems. :-(

I need to create a disc which will be playable on any type of portable CD-player.....what do I now need to convert the files into?

Will [.mp3] files be suitable for burning onto a CD ?

Just bumping this up into the refresh box...........:o)
I think the FREE Ashampoo Burning Studio is what you are looking for to burn your music files on to a CD which is playable on all CD Players.
