Please help. intermittent fault on laptop mousepad. Cursor doing its own thing and jumping about. Is this damage and mechanical fault or a softwear problem? Many thanks.

could somebody re-write this in the technology section for me. The cursor jumped all over the place and it ended up in adverts. Many thanks.
