Installing new PSU in old PC

Can anyone tell me how difficult it would be to install a brand new PSU in an old PC please?

In about a month's time I will be building a new PC from scratch. The problem is that my current PC has problems with the power supply cutting out regularly due to a fault in the connector/wires. I have already purchased a new PSU for my new build, but as I cannot afford the rest of the components for another month i'd like to try and keep my old PC going until then if possible.

it's a piece of the proverbial :)

generally speaking if the connector wont fit it's not right. you only have a couple of main types of connector to worry about... to save me some typing (and because pictures are easier) have a look here...
