iphone springboard folder

I accidentally created a folder on my Iphone Springboard, and now the Weather icon is in it - I don't want the folder, but I can't seem to delete it, or remove the weather app from it. Does anyone know how to delete this folder without resetting everything?

IIRC you need to open the folder and then tap and hold the weather as if you were going to move it between screens and drag it outside the folder, the folder should then disappear
