Moving songs from my computer to ipod.

Can anyone tell me how to do this in easy simple steps please?

Hi Charlie, have you downloaded itunes?
if so go to whatever you have named your ipod in the left panel of itunes, then to 'file' in that you will see' add file to Library, click on ie. music and choose the songs you want to add

You just need to import your songs into iTunes library, then make a playlist with the songs, connect your iPod to computer, iTunes will detect the iPod automatically, then click iTunes menu "File -> Sync iPod", the songs will be transferred from iTunes to iPod.

Thanks Bobbisox and jeffmate very much. However my itunes isn't detecting the ipod. Then, just to add to confusion, itunes has been corropted somehow and I am having to re-install it. Perhaps then it will be ok. I will keep you posted... :-)

Right, as promised heres the update. iTunes is now reinstalled and working well, but the ipod thinghy still can't be detected on itunes. Gonna cut my losses and sell it I think.
