power point slide show

Hi, I sometimes get things sent to me to be opened by power point slideshow presentation. When I try to open them it comes up 'your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded'. How do I find out if I have P.P. or if I have, how do I access it. Is it something you have to buy? I have had a search but can't find anything about it, up to now. TIA Shirl

It normally comes with Microsoft Office.
