Strange? Word documents

In 'My Docs' some of the Word Files are duplicated but show slightly fainter than the others, and have a ~$ in front of them, what are they please?

Pigletion

usually temp files as a result of auto-saving (rather than you actually clicking Save/Save As). Word uses them to recover documents after an unexpected closure
