Screen Positioning

My monitor is usually fine, but today it's being a real pain.

First of all, the black parts at the side of the screen (on each edge on the display) isn't in proper position - some of the edges protrude more than others. I want to be able to position it properly but I don't know how. That's number 1.

Number 2: When I scroll down a page (sometimes), it overlaps the current information on the screen with whatever it should be displaying. It doesn't always do this but when it does, I get very frustrated (as you would imagine).

Number 3: This isn't too much of a problem, but in a way it is - I'm no expert with computers and I don't have any form of expertise in computers, so if you answer with methods that are beyond 'amateur' level, I won't be able to understand. So simplify please, giving a step-by-step solution.

Thanks :)
