itunes installation error

I am having installation problems with my new itunes software for a new itouch.
Every time I try to instal the software I get an error message - 0x8007054F - and it syas that the soft ware had an error at installation.

I run the &*^$&% vista and am at a loss. I am not at all technologically minded so need a VERY SIMPLE explanation please!
