Hi all. Just got back from work after seeing something troubling! The systems have decided that when a usb flash drive is inserted it will rename it as Chess and the icon be changed to a chess board! Anyone got any ideas as to why this has happened? I've been searching the internet and only found 1 post about it but there were no solutions! If the flash drive is formatted it's ok for a short while then after 3 or 4 uses it's renamed. The problem also happened on one of the works laptops which seemed to dissapear after i did a system restore. The other system can't be restored easily though and was wondering if anyone had come across this problem before? Thanks in advance - Carlos

any chess players?
the easiest explanation is
look for a file called autorun.inf in the drives root
this explains it well

if one of the sticks uses the icon - windows has a bad habit of hanging on to the icon

google tweak ui
download and install
use he repair option to rebuild the icon list
