archived files

I have installed virgin pc guard,when it did its antivirus scan the results shown was,
some files in the archive could not be scanned,password protected,the real time protection will automatically scan files when you extract from archive, how do i do this for it to run a complete scan?
I have no idea where to start,
any help i would be ever gratefull.

I think PCGuard is simply telling you that some archive files (for example .zip or .arj) files are password protected and therefore couldn't be scanned. When you open or extract the files from the archives the real time scanner will scan them for viruses automatically.
