Alternative to WinRAR?

I have been using WinRAR on a trial basis and have found it extremely good; however I'm not really in a position to pay for it now the trial period has expired. Is there any other free or trial software I can get that will extract .RAR files?

zip us the universal currency
and most people forget that it's supported natively in 2000, XP and Vista (it's a "send to" option)

Free and works well on Windows.
