I use the VLC Media Player software to watch movies that I download, but can this also be used to get around the regional lock-outs on DVD movies? What I do now is watch region one DVD's on my laptop and region two DVD's on my desktop PC. (I have used up the codes on both machines and that's why I'm now stuck with two computers to watch DVD's from two different regions, and yes, I do know about AnyDVD software.)

Yes you can bypass the region settings by using VLC. Put the DVD in your drive, in My Computer right click the DVD and select play with VLC and it should play no problem.

Pug 100,

You are hands down brilliant! Using the VLC Player to bypass the lock-out codes worked beautifully! Wish I'd known this before I locked myself out on both computers, but with this solution at my fingertips, I no longer have to switch between my region one laptop and my region two PC.
