I have set my screensaver to activate after 10 mins. The trouble is when I am watching a DVD or something I have downloaded it comes on after 10 mins. I'm sure this never used to happen and I have to set it for a couple of hours whilst viewing and then re-set it to 10 mins again. Should this be happening?

Turn screensaver off

Thnks for that Jillius but I'm sure I never had to in the past. I thought my comuter would recognise the fact that a film was playing and not activate it. Perhaps I am naiive - is the screensaver activated when no key strokes or mouse movement takes place and only then?
Not sure but I once had problems with my computer and I was advised not to have a screensaver as they can cause all sorts of problems so I just altered settings so that none came on.

Doesn't that create image persistance or something like that? Bearing in mind when I'm not watching I'm downloading virtually 24/7
Screensavers are no longer needed - the old problems of burn in the screen can no longer happen.

Ethel - is the following link wrong then, because I used an old screensaver of a picture and when I watched a dark film I could see the outline of a cross (from the screensaver picture). It is clear now as I use 'mystify' as my screensaver.
