Does anyone know how to stop itunes losing songs? Everytime I turn it on it loses more songs. I get the little exclamation mark next to it and says it cannot be found even though no mp3s had been moved. The problem is getting worse.

Check where Itunes saves your tunes too. Click on file in Itunes then scroll down to preferences. then click on store and check where the songs are stored. Then make sure you have Itunes music clicked and then all your songs should be saved there. I save all my songs on an external hard drive and had this problem untill I realised Itunes was sendting the songs to mymusic folder instead.

So does that mean itunes will only play songs in it's designated folder?
I have my music on an external hard drive too. I never actually buy music from itunes though so it's not a case of downloading and losing. It's when I have put songs in the library that I have stored on the external drive already. They play fine but a few days/weeks/months later itunes will say it can't be found even though they are exactly where they were when I put them in the library.
I also get problems like this. I have a huge music collection that was taking up a missive chunk of my HD, so i bought a Ext hd and moved my itunes folder, then i get the problems of losing songs and my ipod not syncing to the ext drive F.
