External hard drives

Hi can anyone recommend external hard drive for laptops, I have a dell inspiron 6400 xp and a macbook pro, has anyone heard of xpress pocket size are thay any good, do these items need firewalls? Just some advice please.

Firewalls? No hard drives need firewalls.

The Macbook Pro will like Firewire drives more. If you have a Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro, it's got Firewire 800. If you do anything with large files (video editing, etc.), then you'll want this.

Also, Firewire is generally a better interface for Macs anyway (with respect to making backups).

I can recommend the Lacie drives. They're especially recommended for Macs. Maxtor and Seagate are other good brands.
