Problem with iTunes and Windows Media Player

Can anyone help me with a problem that I've got with Windows Media Player 11 and iTunes? Briefly, I have all my music in the 'My Music' folder and all was fine until I bought an iPod and installed iTunes. iTunes created a folder for itself in 'My Music' and proceeded to copy my library into that folder. Now if I open Windows Media Player the library shows TWO copies of everything, one from the original listing and one from iTunes (which is, of course, a sub-folder of 'My Music'). I have tried moving the iTunes music folder in its entirety, which solves the problem in Windows Media Player but then iTunes cannot find the moved music folder unless I leave the database bit of iTunes in 'My Music'. If I do that, then I'm back to Media Player showing two copies in the library. I'm going around in circles, does anyone have any ideas?

In both media player and itunes you have the options from which the players will read selceted files to get music. simply move the itunes folder from my music - changing the setttings in the prefferences. THen in media player options tell the player not to look at the itunes folder.
More simply just use itunes its alot better and you can move all your music across to it. Just use media player as a movie player
