Hi guys! Got a problem with my PC. Whenever I try to play some audio it dosen't work and I get this message: Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly. Absolutely no sound will play on my PC! It was working fine the other day but yesterday it just goes like this! Help!! What can I do??

Right click on My Computer and choose Properties, Hardware, Device Manager and tell me if you see any Yellow question marks against anything.

Click on Start >Control Panel >System >Hardware >Device Manager.
Scroll down to 'Sound, Video and Game Controllers.
Double click to open the list of hardware.
Look for one which says AC97 in its description (I'd be surprised if yours says anything else), or 'unknown device'
Right click on it and select uninstall.
Reboot your computer.
Windows will find the device and install the driver for it.
