Do you still tell people to commit suicide?
I remember a post of yours years ago where you
got some grief for telling some people that they should *off* themselves.

How sad a post since Chris is so kind
I'm not currently active on many pro-suicide sites but my views haven't changed. I still firmly believe in survival of the fittest.
Uncalled for Nailt!
It's a fair post, Chris has made his views on this topic quite well known. Why shouldn't Nailit ask, just because some find it abhorrent Chris doesn't, does that mean it can't be mentioned?
Is it the topic or because it’s Chris being challenged that’s the issue?
I wonder if people would jump to my defence if nailit asked me about hunting?
I think Chris can stand up for himself.
I just thought it sad of a question under the sticky of mamyalynne
>>> I think Chris can stand up for himself.

I sometimes struggle after the tenth pint ;-)
Stop at nine then Chris.

Why?

Chris himself admitted to this.
Im not even judging him.
Just seeking to understand.

Any question in CB will appear under the sticky.
Self appointed mods in action again deciding what you should or shouldn't ask. Ask away Nailit, if its wrong it will get removed by the powers that be.
I remeber the incident well and it was a rather heated discussion as Buenchico had his own views on suicide to which he is entitled and to which he defended.

Totally fair post in my opinion.
The way things are shaping up, or down should I say within the NHS, it may be the best way out, opposed to months of suffering and little hope of treatment.
But it would of course depend also on ones age.
I understand that when the thought of another day of pain, or despair is too much, it can be comforting to know the option is available, funnily enough it can get you through... One more day... But I also saw many times the devastation it can leave in the lives of those who love and care for you. I will almost certainly be the last one in my family... And may be facing a life of increasing pain and disability... Who knows how I will feel further down the line. Already googled ways and means but I wouldn't share that info with others who may be vulnerable.
There’s suicide and suicide though isn’t there ?

My wife and I have living wills (or whatever they’re called) whereby if we become chronically ill and the pain is unbearable or if we lose our minds, it’s off to Dignitas we go.

As far as I’m concerned, if you lose your mind it’s game over.
DD, the issue is , you or anyone else shouldn’t have to travel to Dignatas.
And they won't help if you are unable to confirm at the time it is your wish to end your life so you need to do it possibly earlier than you would want it you knew you had a condition that would cause cognitive impairment.
Goes without saying some people are stronger than others. I saw an old chap ( and I mean old) walking up the high street the other day on his own, he was that bent over his chin was nearly touching the ground.

I've seen a snail move faster, but there's a chap that will never give up trying. A strong will to live!!

Ive received some sage advice from Chris over the years.
To kill myself wasnt one of them (Though he probably thought it)
Just trying to reconcile myself with the psychology of a poster that at the same time is helpful, admits to advocating and assisting suicides...
