I received an email from Experian this morning giving me an alert that they’d found my email address and password for Experian being sold online. It told me to change my password immediately.

I am with Equifax and haven’t got the Experian app and never have.

Is this a scam, or real?

Scam. Ignore.

Really, JimF. Thanks but, why?
Because it's a scam.
chrissa, if you don't have experian then you don't have a password and you have nothing to fear. If I was to e-mail you and tell you to click on my link to change your 'atheist' password, would you believe me and click on a link to god-knows-where?
An obvious scam.

The email you received will almost certainly have a link to what looks like the Experian website. It will invite you to sign into your account, so that you can then change your password. If you actually had an Experian account and entered your username (or email address), together with your password, into the (fake) page, you'd have just passed on that information to scammers.
