My pop-up problem doesn't diminish & some of the language used doesn't help either, can anyone translate this;
To disable the pop-up blocker uncheck the blocked (recommended) box
Does that mean it should be a blue button or a grey one?

In Chrome I go to; Settings - advanced - privacy & security - site settings - pop-ups & redirects

'Blocked (recommend)' is grey - [therefor 'off' I would have thought?] if I click on it, it turns blue & says 'off'.

Which one is supposed to block pop-ups please?

Abandon all hope ye who enter here!

CAC; I've got that running plus Adguard & Malwarebytes, but the pop-ups keep coming.
It should be grey, see here

When you're in "Site settings", "Pop-ups & redirects" will have either "Blocked" or "Allowed" showing.

On the next screen, the button blocks them when it's grey & allows them when it's blue.
Any chance they are interfering with each other

It means the one with a tick in it. Colours may vary.

Blocked would mean it's blocking pop-ups. Off would mean it's no longer blocking pop-ups.

That's my take, or you could chose one and see what happens.

Thanks OG, A geek friend solved the problem by removing an extension, so it wasn't a virus after all.
I later discovered myself, that it was running Malwarebytes (another extension) that was making my computer run so slowly, I disabled it & I'm now running at speed again & depending solely with Windows Defender, which I'm told has been enhanced so much, that today it gives adequate full protection.
