You need to put the "password" (or security key) for your router.

It is usually printed on the side or base of the router, or it may be in the paperwork that came with the route (if you have not changed it).

It is a good idea to WRITE DOWN things like router passwords in case you need them again.

Obviously if you DO write down passwords keep them somewhere safe and secure, not just laying around.
Before anyone critisizes me for suggesting a person writes down the password I have seen a number of very basic technical questions from this poster so if the could get in the habit of making a note of things they enter on a computer (like logon details and passwords) is a good idea.

As a general rule it is a bad idea, but some people are not technical and do need all the help they can get.

I am currently helping an elderly neighbour with her computer. It has numerous problems on it (it has never been right since it upgraded itself from Windows 7 to Windows 10)

It is from 2001 and she wants to buy a new computer but she has no idea what all her passwords are (for her email, or to logon to various web sites etc) and has no idea of her product keys for various software she has on the computer that she wants to use on her new computer.

I have had the computer in my house for two weeks (I lent her one of my spare ones) while I try to work out what all her passwords are and her product keys are.

If she had written these down when she first got the computer it would have saved me days of work (my choice I don't get paid for it).

So sometimes it is a GOOD idea to write these things down (then lock them away somewhere safe !)
.
>>>It is from 2001

Sorry her computer is from 2011 not 2001.

The password will be case-sensitive. I have a TalkTalk router and all the letters in the password are upper-case - is yours the same? The one beginning with "x" is the password.
