I have received an email in windows live mail containing pictures and text but it is too large to fit on my screen,- about half of it is off to the right. I can scroll up and down to see it but not horizontally, how can I make it smaller please.

Other than suggesting that you take a look at what's available under the 'View' options (from the menu bar across the top of your screen), I'm at a loss on this one as far as viewing the email in Windows Live Mail is concerned. (You might find an option to display the mail without HTML formatting. That should then dump the embedded images from what's displayed, leaving you able to read the text. The images will then show as attachments, which you can access separately).

However you should be able to read the email by going to your email provider's website and logging into your account from there.

Eventually it might be best to get a decent email client though (which definitely doesn't include Windows Live Mail!). Give Thunderbird a try:

just a thought - have you checked that when you scroll it up so the bottom is showing, there isn't a horizontal scroll bar there?
The images are probably print quality saved at 300pixel/inch and your screen is 72p/i
You should donload them to your desktop and view them off-line. Or get the sender to reduce them and send again.
