Hi all, this probably isn’t a very important to anyone other than myself but here goes anyway..

I can’t find a method of telling Chrome to force a new tab to open for a bookmark other than a right click then “open in new tab” or Command + bookmark which requires two hands . I’m on an iMac by the way and my dexterity is poor. My work-round for this is to change my bookmarks to “javascript:window.open(‘ existing bookmark address ‘) and this forces a new tab from bookmarks. The side effect though is that it removes the web site favicon and leaves the bog standard bookmark icon. I can add a favicon with favicon changer or similar but that just adds the new favicon to the bookmark whilst keeping the standard bookmark icon as well. (An icon sized black and white page with the top right hand corner turned down) This makes my bookmarks look messy and it’s difficult to pick one out of a long list without reading the site address as well!

My question then is..
Is there an extension anywhere that forces a new tab to open from a bookmark (like Tab Mix Plus in Firefox does) that I haven’t managed to find for Chrome?
Or.. is there away to get rid of the standard bookmark icon that currently sits jus before the newly created favicon in my Chrome bookmarks folder?

Just to pre-empt the type of response that can sometimes crop up on Answer Bank, please don’t suggest using a different browser, if I'd wanted to do that I wouldn’t have bothered spending a lot of time and effort in typing out this question. Thanks very much.

Haven't been able to test this on a Mac as I'm at work but clicking the bookmark with the scroll wheel (or equivalent) will open the bookmark in a new tab.

Thanks but there's no middle button or scroll wheel on Apple mice.
Oh yes, I have one emulated using Better Touch Tools so forget that it doesn't come as standard.
