I have recently had a problem connection to the internet.
Keep getting a message saying not connected after a few mins online.or not getting connected at all or local only which means you cant connect.
I then noticed a crackle on the landline
Called provider who reckons router is ok ( LAST TIME HAD CRACKLE IT WAS THE ROUTER) called BT who checked the line.....also Ok
Earlier after taking line out of phone socket and replacing , the phone stopped crackling , but a few mins ago it was doing it again.
Turned power of at the wall and back on, phone still crackles this tiime but all lights green on router...as in.... the one that is red( internet) until you connect.

Apart from the problems mentioned

Question ! why are the lights all green when I am not , nor have been online

Any help appreciated... with any of my post.
Thanks

My mother had a problem with router recently. She said that it was caused by a fuse which had fused if you know what I mean in the lounge. Anyway changed fuse and everything working fine. I would never of thought of that and don't know how she diagnosed it.
You've not told us whether you're using an Ethernet cable to connect to your router or wifi. (Indeed, you've not even told us whether you're using a Windows PC or something like an Android tablet or an iPad).

However I'll assume that you're trying to use a Windows PC with a wifi connection. In that case, the first thing to try is resetting the TCP/IP stack. Scroll down to 'Let me fix it myself', here, and follow the instructions:

Sorry
I have a windows laptop,
wi fi ,
In which case, I stand by my answer above as the first thing to try.
PS: If that doesn't work, try connecting with an Ethernet cable. If the problem disappears then further investigation of your wifi connection is required. If it persists then it's almost certainly a fault with your phone line.
