when I try to play certain mp3 audio files in media player i get a message saying codec C00D 1001-mp3-mpeg-layer-111-55 is required.
It directs me to wmplayer site but I don't see this codec, in fact i don't see any codecs.
I've downloaded a codec pack but still no joy. Basically i don't know what a codec is or where I can find this particular one.
Can you help me with this problem or direct me to a site that allows me to play or burn most, if not all, audio files. Thank you in advance

As an alternative, try using the free open source VLC player:-

I also agree, its brilliant.
I have used "Winamp" for years, very adaptable but can be a little complex to set up to begin with.
^^^ Winamp isn't currently available for download, due to licensing issues.

As others have suggested, VLC is about a zillion squared times better than the dire Windows Media Player.
