When I bought my new laptop a couple of years back, I wanted to transfer folders/files from my old PC, which I did. I also wanted to copy my itunes library, and thought I had. I now realise there are far more albums in the itunes library than on my newer laptop, so clearly I did something wrong.

Can anyone explain how you transfer albums that are in itunes on one PC but not on the other. I was planning to connect my ipod to the new laptop to update the ipod, as I have been adding some new CDs. However, as the ipod has the albums on it that are from the old PC, I'll lose those when I connect it up to the new PC. As you may gather, I am not very techie, so keep it simple please!! Thanks

Try syncing your iTunes on your new computer with your iPod and see what happens??

Thanks guys. I have done as suggested in the link given by Tuvok, and copied the ITunes folder on the old PC to an external hard drive. My query now is that I have already added some new CDs into my itunes library on the new PC, which I'd like to keep, in readiness for syncing the ipod. I need to merge what is in the Ipod folder on the external hard drive with what is already on the newer PC. How do I do this? Once done, I'll then connect the ipod to the new PC and sync the merged library to the ipod - HOPEFULLY
You can move the folders of the new music out of the itunes library folder, transfer your previous library, then put the new music into the automatically add to itunes folder
