Printing With Non Specified Ink

I have an Epsom and now using non epsom ink but the printer will not print
It just has crosses on the cartridge columns

Help please

I find if i take the cartridges out, give the chip a wee wipe and re-insert it then works okay. You might need to do a head clean too!

That's worked for me, too. Do a head clean and then print off a Test Page.
