Solitaire Running Too Fast

My laptop has recently been repaired because it was running very slowly. It is now fine,no problems, but Solitaire, which I like to play, is running too fast to play properly. The cards turn instantly and do not cascade at the end of a won game. I have tried turning the games off, switching the laptop off, and turning every thing back on but that didn't work. Any suggestions please? Thanks.

if you click on 'game' (in the top left corner), then 'options', is the 'display animations' box ticked? if not, that might be causing the lack of cascading at the end

I had a look and 'display animations' is ticked but it is faint so I cant alter it anyway!
Take it back and ask them to slow it down for you.

Dont want to risk my laptop running slow again!
i'm certain that the two things that you mention are both options within the game so are you sure that you are running the same version of Solitaire as before the repairs?
Question Author
Not sure! How do I check!
Did the repairs include upgrading from Windows XP? The default solitaire changed between Xp and 7 (can't confirm this) but you can still get the XP Spider Solitaire from here http://www.solitairexp.com/ but I obviously don't know if that is the version that you have been using previously. There are many variants of solitaire readily available and you might want to try some to see which you prefer.

Thanks, I'll have a look for other variations because I can't play this one really now. My repairs didn't include an upgrade. I have always had Windows 7. It was something to do with McAfee continually upgrading-too technical for me! Thanks again.
