It depends which option you selected. See the top right of this page:

However, while Kaspersky is a well-respected product, you needn't have bought it. The free stuff (such as Microsoft Security Essentials) would have done the job anyway.
You probably had a choice when you paid.
I have Kaspersky- but free with my online banking (Barclays).
I find Kapersky the best on the market, having used Norton and McAffee. The latter two slowed down everything I tried to do by continually sending me unnecessary "new-virus" defence. Kapersky just sits there watching my in/out computer traffic. It's beauty is in scanning my pc every time I switch on and I wait for the message "your computer is secure" before going on to explorer or even word or spreadsheet. It then filters all actions. Every so often it tells me to do a virus-scan or update the info database which I do before anything else.
Freebies, no thanks - no such thing as a free-lunch.
Sorry about your bad experience moscowmike and don't understand it or the value. It seems to think you are a network supervisor? Look under "contact us" maybe - I've never needed to over 4 years. Good luck.
SIQ.
