A couple of months ago I created a YouTube account using my googlemail email add, in order to ost a comment on a video online. Today I received some directions regarding an update on how my name would appear onscreen if I continued to post comments. Having not really used it I decided to delete the username. Following instructions I was able to do this. However, I cannot delete the YouTube account altogether as it is linked to my google accounts. I do not want this anymore and nowhere can I find out how to do this. i am not happy that we can easily create something but cannot get out of it by choice (Furious in fact( I do not want my name to appear in its entirety onscreen as their info would suggest. Ok, I know I can stay logged out, but that is not the oint surely!!!!!!!

Have a look here, it says you need to revert to a username?

Don't know if it'll help.

You can easily get out of it by following rockyracoon's link. If, as you say, it's tied to your other accounts, you can click the revert to a username option on that page. Having done so you will have the choice of either deleting the YouTube account, or retaining as a separate account that does not show your fullname.

It's easy to get angry, but it's better to remain calm and get help.
