I have a new desk top computer and I have been trying to save pictures on to my portable hard drive but it says I need permission from the Administrator. How do I do this. I am using Windows 8. If anyone can help I would be most grateful. I have tried turning the slider to the bottom and restarted but it makes no difference.

Best of liuck. I hate this denying the owner nonsense. Try right clicking the files and asking to run as admin. See if there is a way around it like that.

Thank you very much for your advice but I still cannot get it turned off. However, I have used another portable hard drive and it allows me to use that without "permission." Strange!
