Hi , i would appreciate any advice as about 7 weeks ago i was told i needed a new timing chain crank shaft sensor and water pump and oil change, as it was going to cost an absolute fortune to get it done at the garage i managed to to get a local guy to do it a lot cheaper for me, car was going like a dream untill last week when it started being a bit sluggish, having to go down a gear to get any power, then without any warning the car just conked out, ended up having to wait 3 hrs for AA to come, he said it was the timing chain was out of time and there was no compression, he also said that the valves could be damaged, was advised to get more investigation done, had to end up getting towed home, got the guy who previously fitted the time chain to look at the car he said that it had slipped onto the crankshaft, but why would it have slipped? i am waiting for the guy to come up with some answers, do i take it to a garage and pay about £46 an hr for them to strip it down, to then be told i need a new cylinder head gasket as this is what i have told might happen, having just spent £420 is it worth spending more money getting it sorted it has 80000 miles 53 plate, many thanks in advance
