Started having trouble with my Microsoft webcam it works perfectly on Skype but when i go to another video calling site it tells me that the webcam is in use on another application close and try again, even though it isn't in use anywhere else.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it does not work.

I am running Windows 7 and the webcam is a Micrsoft Lifecam 1.4 the
programme was installed with a disc and also downloaded from MS downloads, but still the problem persists.

Anyone any ideas what is wrong, thanks in advance.

The obvious sounding answer to me is, if it works in skype but says it's in use everywhere else then it's skype keeping hold of it. are you sure you are fully closing skype (not just minimising it to the system tray)
Seems to be working to me. Now go and put some trousers on ! Honestly.
Make sure that skype is not using or blocked port 80 on the Internet Information Services (IIS) web server. To check this, open Skype and go to "Tools-Options-Advanced-Connections" and uncheck port no. 80 or port 443 or both,if necessary.
