Learning the language c

With no programming skills how easy is it to learn the language c? can anyone reccomend any good books? I want to learn objective c penultimately to create a simple application for iphone but c is the best place to start

Difficult to say. It's generally considered to be one of the harder programming languages. You may take to it like a duck to water. You'll seriously be in the minority if you do, though...

I didn't find it too difficult but there again I didn't start with it. In my day it was (proper) BASIC, or you dabbled in assembly language.

I'd suspect given a decent teacher it's not a bad place to start, but that still means you have to work at it. Why not just give it a try and see ?
