Stopping IE8 download message

Hi,I have had W7/64 installed, previously had xP home, I keep getting a screen asking me to download IE8, I don't want to. How do I 'turn-off' this message ? any help much appreciated.

Go to Control Panel .. Windows Updates . Find the updates you don't wish for .. and uncheck them.... like IE9 (did you mean IE9 .. not 8?)
Frankly, I keep IE8 updated on XP .. but never use it .. although some of the files are needed by the system. Security updates may apply to these files.
