Has anyone had any luck getting this problem fixed under warranty.
acer & argos both claim this is done through customer misuse.there are a lot of people complaining in chat forums that this is not the case and the screens just go through no undue pressure, myself included.
I would be grateful for any advice received

about nine months- it was a christmas present
You will get replacement only if your laptop covers accidental damage coverage also,
Check the type of warranty, As per my knowledge most of all manufactures have standard one year factory warranty it doen't cover accidental damage.
So contact to Acer's custermer service for more details.
I think you should go for new replacement screen.

the point is though the op says it isn't accidental damage and that there is a history of Acers doing just what he describes.

You could try trading Standards - print off everything you can about this 'fault' as proof
