Hi, am hoping someone can help me please...

I am moving house on 13th May and today received an email from Virgin (my broadband provider) advising they were terminating my service on 4th May. When I phoned to query why, they had received a 'cease' from BT for this date.
I rang BT to be informed that 'someone' had requested a disconnect of my phone line for 4th May. It's probably my buyer who has got the date wrong...that's another issue but it turns out that the request has come from another service provider. BT are unable to remove the disconnect or change the date of it although I am currently the holder and also they do not notify the holder if another provider is taking over the line.
They won't tell me who the provider is so the only way to resolve it to ask my estate agent to contact my buyer and ask them to request a change of date with their provider.

I am fuming not because I was on the phone to Virgin / BT for over an hour (ok most of it was 0800) but because it seems I am powerless to do anything about it! So if I hadn't received an email from Virgin I would've lost my phone line & broadband 9 days before I move. Not happy!

Any advice gratefully received. Thank you.
