Clement Atlee in the election he could have lost these seats but stil lifted the cup to present it to the winning captain .Well it was worth a try

was it Winston Churchill who presented the FA cup in 1952 - to Newcastles Joe Harvey.

By the way the only Prime Minister to have made the presentation at Wembley.

Ohhhh yeeess!

Churchill was the answer.
He lost elections in Oldham and Leicester on his way to Wembley.
Fortunately he defeated Hitler :-)
