I recently fitted 2 new tyres to my road bike.  When fitting the rear wheel back on,I noticed that the chain has 2 "loops" in it.

No matter how hard I try,I can't untangle the loops.  YouTube videos have not helped.  Apart from dismantling the chain by taking a link out,how can I resolve this issue?

Difficult to picture a two loop chain. But surely it isn't difficult to locate the link that opens and simply correct the situation.

it's hard to see how a chain can get "tangled" if it's never been split...

Iagree with Dave. Don't split the chain.

Lay it flat on the floor . And just play with it . But it must be flat on the floor or you will be at it forever.

ChatGPT suggests the “hang and flip” trick
-Hook one loop over a nail or the axle of a wheel so it hangs freely.
-Let the other loop dangle below.
-Grab the dangling loop and give it a gentle whirl—the twist will walk itself up and over, popping the loops apart.
