They made a fatal error.

That happened to a friend of mine. He read his obituary in a sports club's newsletter. That was nearly 30 years ago and he is still on the go.

He's probably dead; it's just that he refuses to lie down.

That is embarrassing, I bet the person who started the rumour feels sore.

This happened to me - twice! People got confused when a close relative died who had a similar name to me, and it went round the town that I'd pegged out. That was in 1984. I was walking past the Roebuck pub in Middleton one evening, when a voice shouted, " Hey! You're dead!". That was a good friend of mine who was very relieved that it wasn't true!

Then another time, a hearse turned up at my house to collect the body of the deceased, ie, me! I couldn't believe that that could happen and I was really annoyed at the undertaker for not checking thoroughly.

But I'm still here folks! Honest!

Very true! If they'd seen it through, who knows what would have ensued! 😄
