I’m thinking of getting a treadmill but am not 100 percent sure whether to as I’m concerned about it ruining the look of the home and looking tacky. Its a large one I’m looking at (100cm width which folds up) and it would have to go in the kitchen

Ive been running/training on and off most of my life but have trouble being motivated to train after comming in from work. I don’t work from home I’m in a hospital all day and it’s nice to be able to work out at home and control the times/speed/incline etc, rather than going to the track all the time

I’l most definitely use it but I’m worried about it taking up too much space

Has anyone has a treadmill what do you think?

What do I think? Don't bother.
Would I want a sweaty body on a treadmill in the kitchen - no.
You'd need to remove that before use I think.
You will never use it
it can be a bit of a drudge....
Gobpiy for a brisk walk in the fresh air. It will do you more good and be more interesting. But then I'm very anti Gyms.
I had an aunty Jim - she was uncle Jim before Edward Scissorhands got hold of him.
Have you got a garage you could put it in?
Ours is in the garage, your kitchen must be pretty big to be able to accommodate one but I think you’re the only one who knows the answer to whether or not it would be ok there.
I agree that it saves time rather than driving to a gym or track, our previous one got hammered by OH and two of our children, all three used it every day. The current one got folded up a couple of years ago and has stayed unused as the children no longer live here and OHs knees are too creaky now.
Overall I think it’s a good idea.

When I say kitchen it’s like a open plan kitchen/small dining area, it would have to go in the small dining area
Do you live alone. If so, it really won't matter where it goes. If not I would discuss it with your family.
As long as it doesn't end up being used to hang clothes on.
Why not jog around the living room/kitchen??
they'll give you a run for your money

Am I Right ?
I'm Not Wrong !
I have a rowing machine gathering dust in the corner - you can have that!
//but have trouble being motivated to train after comming in from work.//
The same will apply with the treadmill.I would forget it and try to work up some enthusiasm for training outdoors.

_________

My excercise bike in the hall ended up as the place where people threw their coats, scarves, bags etc when they came in.
I have a cross trainer which doesn't take up so much space and exercises more of your body.
As there is only me I keep it in the dining room. Yes, I do use it.
Had been going to the gym for 24 years and then it closed a couple of months ago, unfortunately.
Not so easy to train at home as more inclined to put it off or get distracted. When you go to the gym you are focused.
For some reason all exercise equipment in the home looks tacky, even in a room converted to a min gym. I sometimes wonder just how important exercise is, there's a gym near me who obviously don't think it's that important. It's on the second floor and the only access is by escalator or lift!!
I just don't like the whole gym culture these days. There are other ways to get fit which are pleasurable without being indoors with lots of sweaty bodies.
