Congratulations to Team GB on equalling our 2012 result with 65 medals overall. 22 gold 21 silver and 22 bronze, 4th in the medal tables. Really enjoyed watching some of the new sports involved.

I agree, very proud of all of them
When do the games start ?
In three years...
Some thrilling performances, Margo. We loved some of the new sports too.
What was impressive also was the camaraderie that was so evident in what was such a different and difficult Olympics this year. Fantastic displays of sportsmanship during so many of the events.

And well done Team GB.
Fantastic performances all round, it's been an excellent Games & well done Team GB! :-)
Good performance.
Could have done better........not as good as Rio.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Olympics. We've recorded it overnight and watched the following day, plus some red button and evening highlights. Fantastic performances by Team GB and special congratulations to those bringing home medals in the new Olympic Sports.
Could have done a lot worse.
Sqad, as you said on an earlier thread, you are never satisfied with anything.
danny.....agreed.
TCL negative attitude in my opinion.......there are just winners and losers in life. One levels up rather than down.
Anything, Danny? I can think of one or two occasions when Sqad has expressed his satisfaction with something.... ;-)
Are the Olympics on? I didn't realise!
If one has achieved a personal best but not won a medal, one has done the best one could do at that time.
Gness, Sqad posted that he was never satisfied with anything.
Sqad has only ever experienced coming first.
gness....lol....I was never satisfied with my performance ( although I never had any complaints......well very few lol) but I always tried to achieve excellence.
I was reading today that Team GB were the team that entered people into the most different sports, 27 I believe.

With the number of competitors for the top 3 countries compared to the GB team we have done incredibly well, we should be extremely proud of them.

Now for the paralympics on 24 August
While i whole-heartedly congratulate team GB in their Olympic achievements, i do have to question why no Golds in the track competitions given that's where most of the funding goes? I guess some of the competitors in the other sports will be watching just which events will be 'favoured' for the next games.

And good luck to our paralympians.
Athletics is the blue riband sport of the Olympics. I have no idea if it gets more funding than other sports, but in many ways it is probably harder to "pay your way" to success in this sport.
The UK has been lucky to have a lot of track and field success in recent years, and no doubt will do so again.

Yes it was a terrific performance all round, and in general I think the decision to go ahead with the Games was fully justified
Yes, it was a great event. I particularly liked the synchronised swimming
