Postie, my bet for the outright winners of the play-offs is already on. I don't always gravitate towards those 3 sides who have just missed out on promotion, but in this instance, they are the 3 form sides. Of course it could be argued that Oxford were in as good a form as Blackpool toward the end of the season, but Blackpool's record over their last 10 away games...

Brentford,Blackpool+ Newport
Brentford, Sunderland, Morecambe. I thought that Bournemouth looked a cert a few weeks ago but their form is shot lately. We even beat them at their place last weekend.

My bet, then, is a £1 Trixie, £1 Treble on Brentford (6/4), Blackpool (5/2) and Morecambe (5/2). If i'm wrong, i've lost a fiver:-( If i'm right, i've won just shy of £91 :-).
And, it goes without saying, that i will be having a dabble on the individual ties.
You might want to change your mind on Tranmere, Postie. Yes, winning 3 of their last 13 games isn't encouraging but to lose your manager days before the first leg must be quite confusing for the players.
On the subject of form though Ken have had some good wins but also have had a couple of poor results so they are going to need 3 good performances now. After missing out narrowly last time it would be good to see Brentford do it this time. Why Palios sacked Keith Hill is a bit strange, the players seem to lose form after the Papa John’s so they are all culpable in my book.Perhaps Newport can do it this time.
Reference to Blackpool after writing Ken,sorry.
Must admit, Grumpy, the play offs are a bit of a lottery. I remember when we went up under Owen Coyle. We drew 0-0 with Ipswich at home and many (myself definitely included) thought our chance gone. then we went down there and turned the form book upside down, beating them 3-0. We played reasonably well in the final, but Sheff United were dire, and we won 1-0.
The reason i mentioned end of season form is because i use it as a guide to my betting. I know there was a period in time when those who finished just outside the automatic promotion places failed to even reach Wembley. But, you pays yer money and you takes yer chances.
Yes indeed Ken the word lottery sums it up.
