OK I'm England but even the Wales pundits are embarrassed by the 2 Welsh "tries".

Overall Wales deserved the win, although rather ironically, England's attack was better than Wales's. I wonder what the score would have been were it not for the two wrong tries. The first try was an utter disgrace. To tell the Captain to have a word with his team, to call time off, to have water carriers on the field, and then not provide any time to re-set,...

DTC, Genge is getting death threats too

Shame, rugby used to be a sport for gentlefolk.
I tend to agree with jno about the "huddle"
The ref was still in the wrong, imo, but on the other hand when do captains ever actually gather their team round when asked to.
It's not as if he immediately blew for the restart.
England were caught out, but you often contribute to your own misfortune. There seems to be a lot of complacency in the side. What it is based on, I have no idea.

"- didn't realise we brought the Irish Defence coach on!"

Andy F is of course our head coach now. I think he's on the right path. We have been spoiled by recent success. It doesn't come back overnight.
Pretty much everybody who knows what they're talking about, including Nigel Owens, Sam Warburton and now even Pascal Gaüzère himself, reckons that both decisions were wrong.

jno 14:32, are you a better authority than world cup final referee and Welshman Nigel Owens?
Just out of interest how many England fans would have complained on here if the tries had been in England's favour?, as has been the case in the past when decisions have gone their way. Not saying it's right or wrong but I would just like to know. Truthful answers only.

I would have been embarrassed. However what goes round comes around, some times it works for you sometimes against but these are not 50/50 decisions, nothing ambiguous nothing debatable. I struggle to see how they could have happened with the TMO for example, how did he now know the laws of the game? The thing is though, even Martin Johnson said he didn't blame the Welsh, you cannot refuse a try even if you think it wasn't legal.

"now know" = "not know"
TTT, Owens says that's what he would have done. Gauzere gave them plenty of time; they spent it drinking. All Farrell had to do was tell them "We're on a card, so no more borderline stuff. End of" (as they say). Wales paid attention, England lost concentration.

My own suspicion is that they're being so overcoached they've lost their natural instincts, but that's just a guess. Every schoolgirl knows to watch the ref.

jno, rubbish, he said talk to them, he was, 22 seconds elapsed between Time off to go and talk and timer back on, a blind man could see that was wrong. You know better than the referee of the 2015 world cup final? Right oh!
Question Author
Nigel Owens: //“If you are asking the captain to speak to his team, I certainly wouldn’t restart time until I have given them time to line up in defence.

“The only reason they are in a huddle under the posts is you have told the captain to speak to his players and he puts time off for them to do that.

“So, you can’t put time back on then while they are still in the huddle.

“You are not giving them the time to line up to defend. It’s an unfair advantage.//

Gawd even the actual referee has owned up to being wrong but jno still knows better!
// you cannot refuse a try even if you think it wasn't legal.//

Mondays are my rude and stupid days. You can have the rest of the week.
Ignoring the fact that the rugby world has said the ref was wrong on the first try, and ignoring the fact that the ref himself has now admitted he was wrong...you do not re-commence play with water carriers on the field.

I must say it was a nice contrast to hear Eddie Jones downplaying the whole thing, in contast to Solskaer's sarcastic rant about Chelsea's socal media insinations or whatever.
And Andy Farrell, asked about Ireland's disallowed tries, responding with "Well, we all get things wrong so I'm not going to say anything" -- easy to be sanguine when you've won 48-10 of course.
///you can’t put time back on then while they are still in the huddle///

some of them were, some of them weren't, so the huddle was over. The rest were just lazy.

///you do not re-commence play with water carriers on the field///

Which law is that?
Question Author
ok so lets just accept that jno knows more that the chief of referees the 2015 world cup final referee and that actual referee of the game itself. Right oh! who are you refereeing this coming weekend jno?
https://officiating.worldrugby.org/?module=2&section=25&;subsection=99&page=2162&language=en#:~:text=A%20maximum%20of%20three%20non,water%20carriers%20at%20any%20time.

"A maximum of three non-playing personnel are allowed to enter the field of play for the purposes of water carrying (which is only permitted when play is stopped for an injury or when a try has been scored)."
