I see those two clowns of the Premier struck again today at the Fulham v West Ham game with what seems another spurious red card. There have been several incidents recently involving these two surely the PGMOL an Premier league should be looking at the quality of refereeing at the top level.

VAR told the ref it was a red card. He looked at it many times, and gave the red.
Going by the rules it was.
It was a very strange movement of the arm and it struck the Fulham player in the face.
Wasn’t helped by the Fulham player putting his hands to the wrong part of his head that had been ‘contacted’.

Irrelevant. Smacking someone in the head is a red card offence. The R3f watched it maybe 20 times before reaching for the red.

So it wasn't clear and obvious then.

Mitrovic is a disgrace.
He isn't a good referee, some of them seem to want to put themselves in the spotlight instead of the background. I rank him alongside Martin Atkinson and "three yellows" Graham Poll.
In my opinion you should watch the game without having any interest in who the referee is. Arrogant is the word that springs to mind when I recall those three.
Why aren't referees brought to task?
Mike Dean and Lee Mason have made a number of clangers in their last couple of games and should be punished, millions of pounds rest on decisions of referees, sackings of managers etc.
If a ref needs to look at a replay of incidents over and over again, as in a couple of these cases, then it is NOT a clear and obvious error.
Dean seems to love the limelight and it appears he is an arrogant man, full of his self importance, he needs to be brought down a peg or two and removed from the firing line!
It was the correct decision so I don’t know why people are moaning.
The referee blew for a foul before the free kick was taken and asked for VAR to look at it to see if it was a red card. They looked, said it was, the referee looked and agreed, and he was off. The referee didn’t make a clear and obvious error, he played it by the book.
West Ham have, understandably, appealed the red card. We await developments.

On what basis do you think it could be rescinded?
It's disgraceful that all these super-spreaders are working anyway - essential workers my ***. Red card the lot of them, carting the virus all round the country every week - there's blood on their hands.
Because I don’t think he intended to elbow him. And the ex-Prem ref in today’s Mail didn’t think it merited a red card. As I say, we await the appeal outcome.
Referees are pretty much like popes and policemen, infallible until the pips squeak.
Looks like the red card has been rescinded.
