Gosden had 18 Group 1 winners in 2019 ( I think that Frankie Dettori rode 12 of them). This is not as many as Gosden clocked up in 2018 or 2017 when he clocked up 28 and 25 group 1s respectively.

Thanks Togo, That would mean O Brien got 13.
Guess what Porkchop.....I have had another look after my first reply and am now convinced that I have given you wrong information. My subsequent searches appear to indicate that the info I was given in my first search was incorrect and not verifiable. This info looks spot on. Gosden 15 Group 1 winners in 2019. O Brien 16 Group 1 winners in 2019. Sorry about that. If you scroll down to the listings it shows the table of winners globally for 2019.

had massive bet for me today £18 in all but saw one person put £30 down on a single horse to win.
Surprising stats for Andrew Balding and Mark Johnston when you compare runners to winners Groups 1 & 2 for Balding and Johnston for Groups 2 & 3. If Ken see this he will be interested........he loves his stats. :))
Ken does ee this, Togo, and he will be most grateful if he is reminded to check said stats come the new flat season :-)))
TonyV; have you led a sheltered life by any chance? Seeing someone lay £30 on a single bet isn't at all unusual. If you hear me say (or see me type!) "I'm having a good bet on this one" you can be rest assured that I mean £50. Though you can also be rest assured that I don't do this very often; once in a blue moon springs to mind:-) I have had all my relatives open accounts with various firms in the past just to take advantage of getting unbelievable prices on some of Henderson's Festival runners which are limited to a £10 stake. Most of which obliged, I must add.
Yes Ken only bets in my parents day was on the Grand National.
Of course there are stats then there are stats. Gosden very rarely has more than one runner in a Group race - sometimes 2 - but O'Brien quite often has a 3rd of the field representing him. Therefore the 28% strike rate for Gosden is an absolute stand out. As is the man who was on board many of those.
An ex boss would have a bet every day plus a weeks racing at Cheltenham every year with his friends. Used to have bookies runner in workplace.
I also have a bet every day, Tony. In fact, I have had a football bet every day for the last 6 years. Sometimes just a £2 win on a correct score, other times a small stake on an acca. Thankfully there are enough non-Christian countries where football matches are held during our festive period. As I have said before on these pages, in the main I keep my stakes on the small side and if I have a win or two, it helps pay for my Saturday gambles. If I couldn't easily afford it, I wouldn't be doing it. And that's just how gambling should be approached. Keep it fun. :-)

Thanks for latest info Togo, i still have not completed the horse racing quiz so i will take your advice and recheck. The quiz contains 20 questions regarding horse racing i may be back with more for you. My bets are usually Lucky 15s for small amounts, i am in the game for a little pleasure, win or lose.
Good for you Porkchop, nothing wrong with a bit of innocent fun. Feel free to post your selections on the threads that are mainly posted up by Ken or myself. We do not do politics, news, celebrity comment or query each others beliefs on those threads and issue a sharp reprimand to any who try to. :))I have always suspected that more pop in and view the threads than actually contribute.(We have lost a couple who used to) Hope yo did better than I did today, though I musn't complain. Overall in 2019 I am £2k+ up. It has been a long time since I managed such a result in a year.
