The only meaningful sanction will be bar Bulgaria from the qualifiers for the 2024 competition (As Ken said, not much point barring them from 2020 as they're out already out), but there's no way that will happen. It's time UEFA started expelling these teams. It's sad that the players must suffer for their "fans" but I see no other way.

It was a total disgrace. It will be interesting to see what UEFA do about this. Credit to the players who responded to it in the best possible way.

Also credit to the Bulgarian captain Popov, for desperately trying to appeal to the fans at halftime.

Things are usually down to money. If it was costing UEFA anything to keep them in they would have told them to *** off years ago whether they behaved badly or not.

that was a suggestion doug but in reality it's not practical if the game is abandoned then the lowlives win.
